Chelmsford Junior Chess Club: July 2025

No club on Saturday 19th July because I was at Sandown Park for the Southern Gigafinal.

Congratulations to all the Chelmsford and Essex Juniors who took part - especially those who qualified for the Challengers or Terafinal.

Jora (U14 boys) and Joshua (U10 boys) from CJCC were among the Challenger qualifiers after scoring 5 wins from 7 games.

Here is a photo of the younger CJCC boys - Jacob, Joshua M, Joshua B, Riansh, Arjun and Vel.

Back to the club yesterday where it was great to welcome Hugo, Jeshnu, Cyril, Seb, Kashaan, Ibrahim and Aisha for the first time.

Lots coming up in August including 4 chess workshops and 2 across the board tournaments.

But open as usual on all other Saturday mornings through July, August and September.

Chelmsford Junior Chess Club (Saturday Mornings)

Please note that we are closed on Saturdays 19th July, 16th August, 23rd August, 11th October.

We meet in Christ Church in London Road (CM2 0AW).

The younger club (School years 1 to 5) will meet from 9.15am to 10.45am.

The older club (School years 6+) from 10.45am to 12.15pm.

The groups are flexible to allow (for EG) siblings to stay together or stronger, younger players to challenge older ones.

The cost is £5 per session attended, which will be a mix of playing and coaching.
