Chelmsford Junior Chess Club: August 2025

Today was the last regular club week for Anna, Joshua and Nithilan as they start Year 13 next week.

Anna and Joshua have been part of CJCC since they were young and they have all helped run the club the last few years.

We will miss their coaching, chess and company but the demands of A Levels mean they will be limited to the odd guest appearance in future.

Older players helping younger players develop their skills has aleays been a big part of our club.

No chess club today because I was organising the 4th Brentwood Rapid Play at Brentwood School.

Great to see so many Chelmsford Junior Chess Club players (plus a few parents) taking part.

Congratulations to all our prizewinners - especially Tekshan who won the U1200s with 6/6.

Cameron's Giant Chess

Ethan was our "Player of the Week" for his kindness in helping Shruthii against Kai

No chess club on Saturdays 16th or 23rd August but chess workshops on Thursdays 14th and 28th.
