This was another busy and fun morning at the club. Great to welcome some more new members.

Chelmsford Junior Chess Club was back today after the Chelmsford Grand Prix (4th October) and She Plays To Win (11th October).
We should now be back every Saturday until Christmas.
A busy morning at the club. It was great to welcome Shrimath, Ishan, Freddie, Truman, Cheryl, Raizel and Vikram for the first time. Sorry if I have missed anyone out.
Chelmsford Junior Chess Club meets on Saturdays from 9.15am to 12.15pm in Christ Church in London Road (CM2 0AW).
We meet (with the odd exception) every week.
The younger club (school years 1 to 5) meet from 9.15am to 10.45am.
The older club (school year 6 and above) from 10.45am to 12.15pm.
There is some flexibility within the group ages.
The cost is £5 per child with the sessions a mix of playing and coaching.
Payment in cash on the day or online marked CJCC.

We had a busy morning at the club on 14th September.
Joshua B and Jacob were playing in the Essex Rapid and Blitz Championships - well done to both of them - but it was great to welcome Finley, Linfei, Linlin, Teddy, Gabrielle, Deshauna and Kairah.
Thank you to George, Anushka, Rithvika, Ariana and Tekshan for coming along to share their chess skills with the younger players.
Today was the last regular club week for Anna, Joshua and Nithilan as they start Year 13 next week.
Anna and Joshua have been part of CJCC since they were young and they have all helped run the club the last few years.
We will miss their coaching, chess and company but the demands of A Levels mean they will be limited to the odd guest appearance in future.
Older players helping younger players develop their skills has aleays been a big part of our club.
No chess club today because I was organising the 4th Brentwood Rapid Play at Brentwood School.
Great to see so many Chelmsford Junior Chess Club players (plus a few parents) taking part.
Congratulations to all our prizewinners - especially Tekshan who won the U1200s with 6/6.
