Chess Position

Last week I got the chance to play a very beautiful move across the board. It is the kind of move to make a player smile each time they think about it.

White has just played their pawn from b2 to b4. I was going to play RxB, KxR pawn b5 check but then saw I could play pawn to b5 immediately. White is checkmated in all lines - most immediately by Rg8 Nf2# or BxQ Rxh7+, Kg1 Ne2#

Come and make your own beautiful chess moves on Saturday 22nd January at our first meeting of 2022. Or come and make your first chess moves. All children are welcome whatever their chess level.

Good Luck!
Robin Slade
