This weekend was the Essex Megafinal and it was great to see
18 players from our club there (plus Angelo, Elliot and Findlay
from the adult club in Chelmsford).
For some of these players it was their first ever tournament. Out of these
Lucas deserves a special mention for scoring 3.5/6 and winning a rosette.
To qualify for the South of England Gigafinal a score of 4/6
was needed. Many congratulations to Max (5/6), Nina (5/6), Jerry (4.5/6) and
Sebastian (4/6). Max and Nina ensured family harmony by being joint winners of
the U8 section and each took home a trophy. From the adult club Elliot and Findlay both scored 6/6
in the U14 and U11 sections respectively.
Olga also won a trophy as the highest scoring girl in her
section and no less than 9 of our players finished on 3.5/6 (all winning a rosette
but missing out on qualification by half a point).
Hopefully we’ll have a photo of Max, Nina and Olga with
their trophies to add but for now we’ll settle for some photos from the club
this week of the Essex Championship Trophy.
